Everything was fine, I got the 299 stitches cast on, then it just went bad from there. I don't know if it has to do with having kids around (interruptions galore), knitting in the family room with the T.V. on, or trying to have a conversation with my husband but after 8 attempted rows and about 2700 stitches I realized I had messed up. I tried to go back, I really did, but then I got frustrated and teary eyed and just threw the stupid thing on the ground. I wanted to stand up and stomp on it but didn't want to end up with a bamboo needle through my foot LOL.
Then... I remembered I saw a round shawl in Knitters Almanac and had also set aside some beautiful Rowan 4 ply cotton. It is easy and enjoyable, I know it doesn't have fancy stitches but at this point I could care less. I will probably continue to make this plain, except for the YO on the increase rows and then something for the border.
Here is what I have so far, I love the color. The next 43 rows (288 stitches per row) will take awhile but that is okay. I don't feel like such a failure anymore, my time will come when the kids are older and I have more patience with my knitting , then maybe I will be able to knit beautiful Lace.
Have A Great Day!
